Bit late but wow - this is a superb piece of rock writing, thrilling, passionate and expert, thank you! I agree that across the vast landscape of pop and rock, this recording is some kind of pinnacle. Someone elsewhere said that it ends in needless shredding but the song was a bit risqué for the hit parade when it came out and I think that second guitar solo knowingly and gloriously picks up the narrative where the lyrics end and takes it to its natural, cataclysmic conclusion. I've been on CDs for decades, I don't collect vinyl and I don't pay ridiculous premium prices for old hard-to-find limited edition singles... but I've made an exception in this case.
Somehow never heard of Screaming Females till a week before you posted this; I had "Ripe" in heavy rotation all that week.
Also, this is an amazing harmonic convergence.
I reckon it's almost like a whaddayacall slinky-on-a-stick!
They’re so good live. And they tour with two sets of gear so they can play smaller venues, too.
